The wonder of Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture & Herbalism

I offer my skills and knowledge of Chinese medicine to asses what is occurring in and on the body  based on my diagnosis. We have all evolved in a unique way due to our ancestry, emotional experiences, and lifestyle choices. I've had the incredible opportunity to enhance and reform my practice by studying with the apprentices of Dr Wang Ju Yi and his classical applied channel theory approach. It has refined my ability to diagnose where the imbalance(s) are in the body and what is causing it.

Diagnostic Methods

  • Channel Palpation: The term channel is preferred to meridian because they are considered to play an active physiological role with the organ that covers an area of the body. Much like the role a water channel played in ancient China. It was a means of trade and transport to keep the the larger city functioning. The organ channels of the body serve a similar purpose.

  • Tongue: The tongue is used as a diagnostic method because it's an internal organ that represents the internal state of the body. The shape, features, coating, and color are assessed.

  • Pulses: There are 6 pulse positions on the wrists used to assess the quality of the blood and qi and which organs/ areas of the body the imbalance is in.  There are other pulse positions throughout the body used as well.

  • Basic lifestyle questions are asked in order to gain a clear assessment of all possible symptoms/ signs and to find patterns as to which organs, channels, and substances are involved. Past diseases offer clues as to which systems may be involved since we tend to have repeating issues.
